Dr Julian Huppert has had a dual career in science and politics. He did his BA and PhD at Trinity, working on DNA structure and function, becoming a Trinity JRF before securing a permanent position in Physics of Medicine at the Cavendish Laboratory. He also served as a Cambridgeshire County Councillor and then as MP for Cambridge 2010-15. He now runs the Intellectual Forum, an interdisciplinary centre based at Jesus College, and holds a number of other roles, including in the NHS, as a Director of the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, and a NED for Health Innovation East.
